Well, I am a bad writer. Can anyone help me to cut this para down to 50
Jake-a-saur
words and make it nicer?

I like the first post very well worded & informative.
I went for more of a story summarization as if a narrator was describing
it.

In a regular school paper, you aren't supposed to talk to ur audience as
'you', the way you do in the first sentence. In that case you'd say 'Many
people know the story of Easter Island'. If you are reading the paper
aloud to the class, or it is a speech or something, then you can say 'many
of you'.

The story of Easter Island, once a mystery, is a tragic example

of cultural & ecological collapse. The island was once flourished with

unbalanced, & quickly destroyed. A most famous example is the great,
stone statues the islanders used so much resources & energy to erect.
However, with all of the necessary resources depleted, vital species to
their survival, plants & animals alike, began to dissipate - including
themselves. Without enough wood to build boats, they unknowingly trapped
their hopes of survival into certain extinction.
